Diego Caballero Velez

Diego Caballero Vélez holds a BA in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Córdoba and a MA in International Law and International Relations from the University of Granada (Spain). He completed an Erasmus exchange at the University of Gent (Belgium). Later he cooperated with the Spanish Consulate in Florence (Italy) and completed a research internship at the Institute for European Studies from the Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Belgium). His main research interests cover European migration and security policies , EU external action and multi-level governance.


Project title (provisional): Member states´ `perception of threat´ to irregular migration flows as a determinant factor of change in cooperation at EU level: a comparison between the Yugoslav migration crisis and the Syrian
refugees´crisis.
Thesis Supervisors: Enrico Calossi and Eugenio Pizzimenti (University of Pisa)
