Maximilian Freudenthaler holds a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science from the Free University Berlin and a Joint Master's Degree in European and Global Affairs from the University of Sheffield and LUISS School of Government. Besides his studies, he conducted several assistant- and internships, for example with the EU-Office of the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation in Brussels, and the UNHCR in Vienna. Most recently, he has been working as a research assistant for the Bologna-based consulting firm Economisti Associati, providing consultancy for European institutions. His main research interests lie in the field of Political Economy, especially (authoritarian) neoliberalism, EU responses to the economic crisis, and the social and democratic sphere of economic policies.
